Mock Draft 1.0

There are plenty of baseball “experts” who try to predict the MLB draft. However, there is no surehanded way of predicting the draft. The only way to choose a logical pick for each team is to examine each team’s individual drafting preferences, what they look for in a prospect, and their current farm system. Keeping that in mind, here is the Canyon of Heroes Mock Draft.

1. Washington Nationals

Bryce Harper, C, CC of Southern Nevada

Is there really a question about this pick? Everybody knows about him, that he considered one of the greatest prospects EVER. He has prodigious power. His high leg kick, which helps create the power, had some scouts worried about when pitchers throw off-speed pitches, but Harper appears to have enough balance to nullify the high leg kick’s impact. On defense, it is expected that Harper will move to a corner outfield position to save his body from the abuse catching brings. He has a very good arm, and if his bat wasn’t as great as it is, Harper could probably be a high draft pick as a pitcher. His defense as a catcher is impressive, but that isn’t what scouts are drooling over.
